Ballance Agri-Nutrients appoints Michele Kernahan as an Independent Director

Ballance Agri-Nutrients are delighted to announce the appointment of Michele Kernahan as Independent Director following a director search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Ballance Agri-Nutrients are a co-operative owned by almost 19,000 New Zealand farmers. They offer a portfolio spanning fertiliser and feed manufacturing, micronutrients, research, product innovation and on-farm advice, online farm management and agricultural aviation services. It is one of New Zealand’s Top 50 companies with network across the country, including one-on-one specialist advice on farm and rural merchant supply partners, service centres, consignment stores, manufacturing sites and their own agricultural aviation services operation.

Michele brings considerable experience in leading large manufacturing and infrastructure businesses, and has strong supply chain knowledge and commercial acumen. She has proven expertise in leading large organisations and improving performance and shareholder returns. Most recently Michele was Chief Executive of New Zealand's leading temperature-controlled transport Group, Hall’s and previously spent 21 years with Fletcher Building where she held a variety of senior roles including Chief Executive of the Building Products division, Chief Executive of Fletcher Construction, General Manager Laminex Australia, Earthquake Recovery and Golden Bay Cement. Michele is also currently on the Board of NZX listed New Zealand Automotive Investments Limited.

Michele holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology and an MBA, both from the University of Canterbury. She commences with Ballance Agri-Nutrients in early 2022.
