Construction Health and Safety New Zealand (CHASNZ) Appoints Chris Alderson as Chief Executive Officer

Construction Health and Safety New Zealand (CHASNZ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Alderson as Chief Executive Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

CHASNZ is the peak health and safety body established in 2018 for the construction sector. CHASNZ is an accredited charitable trust established to raise the standard of health and safety across the whole of the construction industry. The organisation is chaired by Roger McRae, and comprises member representations from Downer, Naylor Love, Milestone Homes, Specialised Trade Contractors Federation, Site Safe New Zealand, Auckland Transport, Ngai Tahu Property, Beca and the ETU.

As CEO, Chris reports to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for the strategic and operational outcomes of CHASNZ. Chris brings more than 30 years of experience leading business transformation across global and New Zealand based companies. He has a passion for health and safety, with deep industry and technical experience across construction, supply chain, operations, the dairy industry, aviation, logistics, information systems, finance and safety. Chris’s career has spanned organisations including PwC, Air New Zealand, British Airways and Fonterra.

Chris has a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance from the University of Auckland. He is a Chartered Accountant (CAANZ).

Chris commences in his role with CHASNZ in September 2018.
