Russell McVeagh has appointed Kate Weaver as General Manager Human Resources following an Executive Search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, Jo Avenell, Kate will lead the Human Resources function; partnering with the Board, CEO, Partners and employees of Russell McVeagh. Key areas of focus include enabling the culture and values transformation, remuneration, performance management, policies and procedures, talent management, recruitment, learning and development, along with HR team leadership.

Kate has a deep pedigree in HR with a strong focus on change. Most recently she was Head of Business Partnering at NZME, leading the Culture and Performance team across New Zealand with approximately 1,800 permanent and casual employees. Kate was previously with Fletcher Building in both the Construction and Building Products divisions. Earlier, Kate spent two years with DLA Phillips Fox in both Auckland and Melbourne as Head of HR Operations, before being promoted to HR Director for DLA Piper in Australia from 2010 to 2014.

Kate has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Industrial and Social Psychology from the University of Canterbury.
