Sealord Announces Chief Executive Succession

Sealord Group Ltd, the deep sea fishing and aquaculture business, have announced the Chief Executive Officer succession with the current CEO, Steve Yung, stepping down in October 2020. 

Doug Paulin has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and will succeed Steve as CEO at the end of the transition period. SEQEL Partners are delighted to have partnered with the Sealord Board to conduct the CEO assessment and succession process. 

The Sealord Board undertook a comprehensive assessment process and are excited to appoint Sealord’s first internal candidate, reflecting their focus on executive leadership development. Doug began his career with the Royal NZ Air Force, followed by a successful 11 years with Lion Nathan working within sales and marketing. His roles included Auckland Regional Sales Director and Brands Director. Doug also spent two years as part of the Lion Nathan strategic team, where he led Lion’s entry to the Grocery channel. Doug then spent five years as the Chief Executive Officer for Hubbard Foods before joining Sealord in 2011. Doug has a BCom/LLB from the University of Otago, a MBA from Henley Management College in England and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University in Boston.
