Starship Foundation appoints Vince Hawksworth as Trustee

Starship Foundation has appointed Vince Hawksworth as a Trustee following an introduction by SEQEL Partners.

The Starship Foundation provides funding to the Starship Hospital, New Zealand’s national children’s hospital, enabling the Starship to invest in innovation and research that would otherwise not be possible. Since 1992 the Foundation has generated more than $160 million for Starship, making a real difference to New Zealand children every day.

Vince’s background includes considerable experience as a senior executive and a director in the energy sector. For the last four years he has been the Chief Executive for the NZX/ASX listed Mercury Energy, having previously held the same role for Trustpower for ten years. Prior to that Vince spent four years in Australia as the Chief Executive of Hydro Tasmania. He has previously worked for Genesis Energy, the Electricity Corporation of New Zealand and British Coal in the UK.

Vince is a qualified Mining Engineer and has an MBA from the University of Waikato.
