Wellington Electricity appoints Chris Gregory as Chief Financial Officer

Wellington Electricity has appointed Chris Gregory as Chief Financial Officer following an executive search conducted by SEQEL Partners.

Wellington Electricity manages the local lines network that delivers power to Wellington, the Hutt Valley and Porirua. This spans over 4,650 square kilometres of poles, wires and other equipment that safely supplies electricity to around 176,000 homes and businesses across the region.

Chris is a seasoned CFO with a background in infrastructure businesses and a strong pedigree from Big 4 professional services. Most recently he spent six years as the Finance Director/CFO of Southern Cross Cables, the owner and operator of submarine fibre-optic cable systems which connect Australia, NZ and certain Pacific Islands to the US. 

Previously, Chris was CFO of CentrePort where he led both the finance and IT functions through a number of challenges. The majority of his earlier career was spent with PwC in New Zealand, the UK, Canada and Ghana where he progressed within the Corporate Finance service line. 

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration from Victoria University of Wellington and is a Chartered Accountant. He joins Wellington Electricity in February.
